1927 Classic Dutch Barge for sale from Boat Showrooms

Brief History

• Built in Zwartsluis in 1927. Hull No L1849N.
• Brought to the UK in 1956, when the superstructure was fitted.
• Used commercially in the 1980's for Thames cruising.
• In 2004 year's worth of exterior overpainting were completely removed back to metal.
• In 2005 she was completely rewired and replumbed (Water and Gas).
• In 2008 the Hull was plated around the waterline with a 300mm x 6mm steel band. Shortly after a new propeller and shaft were fitted.
• In 2016 the Hull was blacked and the anodes were inspected as okay.
• In 2020 the exterior was repainted with Toplac International and Interdeck paints - the interior was also repainted.
• In 2020 she had a new Victron Battery Charger fitted.
• In 2021 she was out of the water for a full survey, which noted that remedial work to the hull was required - this has now been completed to a very high standard by '4 All Marine' in Chertsey who have over plated with 6mm steel, alongside fitting 10 new anodes and new blacking. The work has been inspected by the surveyor and the report updated. A full insurance survey will also be provided.
• This work, at a cost of @£18,000, will give JOJA many more years of life on the river.
• JOJA has a Boat Safety Certificate valid until 2027.
• Please note, she is deemed unsuitable for Canal cruising as is too deep in the water.
