Get set for the mighty Grand Banks 85, the largest yacht Grand Banks has built to date. Building on the recently released GB60, the GB85 offers the option of a flybridge or a climate controlled skylounge. A 22-foot beam presents wide-open entertaining areas with ample space to socialise inside and out. Be spoiled for choice with the option of a full-beam master stateroom, boasting a large double ensuite, or a 4-cabin layout, spacious enough to sleep up to 9 people comfortably.

In the factory the hull mould is well underway, with all framework now assembled and the preparation of the mould surface has now also commenced. Our recently upgraded in-house robot facility is now fully operational, with a second 8-axis robot we now have twin armed robotic milling capabilities, providing us with more flexibility and enabling a larger output of parts.

The robots will soon be used to cut the deck plug for the GB85 offering improved efficiency and a high degree of accuracy in parts. The implementation of in-house robots reduces the time spent on monotonous tasks, allowing staff to focus on the tasks in-house which require high attention to detail, such as design features, joinery and problem solving.

Grand Banks embraces a modern approach towards boat building in combination with traditional tricks of the trade, which our experts have finessed over the years. Grand Banks designer, John McKay, explains the build ideology:

“We are combining the benefits of traditional boat building with world leading technology to reduce production time and improve the quality of our products.”

The GB85 puts forward exactly that, with the factory using a combination of hand-built and robot-built methods which have sped up the initial development of the mould process. The topsides are planned to be finished in late April so stay tuned for more exciting news on the development and production of the big, beautiful Grand Banks 85.

Grand Bank 60

The stunning new Grand Banks 60 is the most efficient cruiser in its class, with a ride that easily surpasses any yacht of its size on the water today. This beautiful, completely redesigned yacht pays homage to classic Grand Banks styling, with a special focus on performance and fuel consumption. Featuring wide-open entertaining areas, supremely comfortable furnishings and three staterooms, this true ocean-going long-range cruiser is ideal for passage making, and can easily be handled by two people.

The Grand Banks 60 can reach speeds up to 36 knots, has a range of more than 2,500 nautical miles at 10 knots, and uses an unbelievably efficient 29 gal/hr of fuel 20 knots. We believe we have created the most stable 60-foot monohull flybridge in the world, which performs confidently in even the roughest seas and will take you anywhere you want to go.

The Grand Banks 60 is our first foray into a new standard of fully infused carbon fiber construction, which results in a low center of gravity, inherent form stability at all speeds, and multiple advantages in strength, rigidity, weight and performance. This is next-level yachting.

Grand Banks continues its bold foray into the future of long-range cruising with the upcoming release of the Grand Banks 54, the second addition to the new Grand Banks family series. An estimated top speed of 32 knots and a cruising speed of 28 knots means the Grand Banks 54 is a true performer, and a fuel burn of 29 gal/20 knots makes her equally efficient.

The Grand Banks 54’s versatile design is a culmination of everything we learned from designing and building the Grand Banks 60 and the rest of our range over years of production. The Grand Banks 54 is constructed using the latest methods of fully infused carbon fiber to achieve strength and reduced weight, and employing the benefits of modified epoxy vinylester resins that are the benchmark of durability, and impervious to osmosis and blistering.
