Owners Notes

During our ownership of 'Golden Joy' we have carried out the following servicing, repairs, and improvements.

Both engines serviced and tuned. Both carbs ultrasonically cleaned and new accelerator pump diaphragms fitted as part of a refurb kit supplied by Repower Marine in Falmouth.

New ignition leads, distributor caps and spark plugs.

Oil, oil filters and fuel filters all changed.

Both engines start readily and run smoothly.

Both drives removed, serviced, and repairs including changes of bellows, seals, and anodes 2020.

Propellers not sent for refurb as the boat was due to be launched before the company returned to work This can be done quiet cheaply, around £80.00 per prop. Just Google  'boat propeller refurbishment. Much cheaper than buying new.

The props are fine at upper Thames speeds.

Windows resealed with Capt. Tolleys Creeping Crack cure (it works!)

Having resealed the windows, some watermarking needs removing in the forward cabin on some upholstery and the headlining. This is something that we just didn't get around to. I spoke to Thames Covers in Shepperton. They seem to be a great source of all types of re-upholstery, covers, and headlining repair. This was during covid restrictions so we have not proceeded.

If you are the lucky new owner of 'Golden Joy' you can look forward to a spacious, reliable boat that will give you a great deal of pleasure.
