The Thornycroft 29 is a great compact cruiser. This vessel has undergone a complete refit throughout the past 7 years with still some cosmetic parts to complete. All the mechanics are brand new ready to drive away. A great river cruiser and easy to handle.

Restoration Information

Has been in boat shed for 7 -8 years whilst undergoing restoration work as follows.

Underwater line was scraped and sanded. Four coats  of epoxy applied and two coats of anti foul paint. 

Anode studs replaced, stern gear and fitting gas bonded.

Cutlass bearing replaced

New prop, prop shaft, stern tube rubber and conventional gland pre-packaged.

New engine (sole diesel 44) has been run for a couple of hours only.

New engine beds ,mounts, coupling, gearbox (twin disc),and control cables.

New exhaust system -water lock and stainless swan neck 

Diaphragm type aft bilge pump connected to strumbox.

Automatic pump in bow.

D5LC Eberspacher heating.

Waco fridge.

Rubbing straight replaced

Master volt battery charger 

3x AGM battery

240v immersion

95 amp alternator- volt sense relay 

Stainless diesel tank (150 ltr)

Twin kg propane gas bottles in stainless locker with bubble tester.

Re wire including new fuse boards and earth bar.

New plumbing

Cabin and cockpit roof have been sheathed and painted on the outside. Repaired re painted and varnished inside.

Decks are solid teak re caulked and oiled.

New canopy May 19

 

STILL TO DO :-

Fit wiper motor, horn and spot light to cockpit  roof. Wiring and switches are in place and parts on board.

Still some painting and trimming in cockpit (mahogany strip on board and paint).

Some making good of bulkheads and varnish work in cabin.

Toilet and holding tank to fit (parts onboard and through hull fitting in place for flush)

Galley taps to fit (onboard)

Replace toilet sink and tap (new parts on board)

Soft furnishings

240v wiring shore power input, consumer unit and breakers all onboard.

Fit heater outlets in cabin.

Install new cooker (find on board )

CONDITION SURVEY carried out May 19th available to read.

Boat safety certificate May 19

Job circumstances have forced sale of this boat. A lot of TLC money and time gone into this project (too much to list it all). Not too much left to finish it and most of the parts come with it. Sure it will make someone a really lovely boat for many years to come.
