1999 Broom Ocean 29  'White Willow' is a beautiful and well cared for example of this popular cruiser.

The Ocean 29 is a medium powered displacement cruiser designed mainly as a river boat but with a capacity for estuary cruising. Produced in hard top or soft top format, the 29 is popular on the Broads as well as other river systems with restricted air draught.

The accommodation provides a double cabin forward as well as an occasional single berth in the saloon sofa. The roomy aft cockpit doubles up as living space with the provision of a good quality canopy.

Accommodations

Four berths in two cabins.

Forward cabin: The main cabin in the Broom 29 features a transversely set fixed double bed. The forward cabin itself is a large, open and airy cabin, with 2 opening side windows, a large opening roof hatch and a forward facing window. It is a well ventilated cabin with ceiling air vents, low level ventilation and a good amount of storage, including under bunk drawers.

Main Saloon: Accessed from the aft cockpit, down 2 steps, the main saloon is situated to starboard and features a good size drop leaf saloon/dining table set around a 'L' shaped sofa which easily converts into a good size second double berth. There are also storage cupboards, television point with extended shelf and 12/240 volt isolator panel. The main saloon has an additional window to the already large opening side window. There is also under-bunk storage and central heating outlet.

Galley: Situated to port, opposite the saloon, the galley is well equipped with a 2 burner hob and separate grill/oven compartment. Stainless steel sink with pumped hot and cold water, refrigerator with ice compartment, various cupboards, drawers and shelves for storage, 240 volt sockets and the hot water immersion isolator. The galley also has great ventilation, an opening window, 12 volt lighting and a fresh water tank gauge.

Heads & Showers: Accessed from the main cabin area, the heads feature a wash basin with shelving space, a manually pumped toilet to holding tank with holding tank gauge, a fixed shower unit, opening windows, 12 volt lighting and mirror. This is a well ventilated area and big enough to be practical.

Main Cockpit Area: The cockpit on the Broom 29 is extremely large and offers comfortable seating for 6 adults. The entire cockpit has standing headroom, teak decks and covered by a canopy which is only 2 years old. There is a helmsman and navigator seat, and a 'L' shaped bench round a removable table. There is also a single bench running aft to port. The main cabin is accessed through a sliding tinted perspex door and the helm is set to port with single lever Morse control, essential engine instruments, various isolator switches and bow thruster control. Other features include cockpit lighting, forward folding screen to reduce airdarught, windscreen wipers, life ring, gas locker, aft door to bathing platform and excellent side deck access.
