The Motor Cruiser of the Year Award achieved by the Broom 38 recognised the breakthrough in design by Brooms in providing a good fast cruising seaboat which is capable of, and most suitable for, cruising the inland waterways of Europe when required. This gives the owner the widest possible cruising potential without compromising seaworthiness.

Designed by Andrew Wolstenholme the 42 is a bigger and more spacious version of the 38. As with all their designs, Broom have listened carefully to their owners for items of detail and this is one of the reasons why the company enjoys a high degree of repeat business. With the capability of speeds up to 28 knots and cruising speed well in excess of 22 knots, the 42 is a truly serious cruising boat, with the excellent handling qualities, comfort and superb finish on which Brooms have built their reputation.
